Just back from a fabulous afternoon playing for and with Serenata Female Voices, at Holy Trinity Balsham. A sizeable and beautiful church, and today it had a sizeable and appreciative audience for our programme of songs from film, charting the history of film music from almost the start to recent hits such as The Greatest Showman & Avatar. Performance even more interesting when Storm Dennis caused a switch to cut out, reducing the keyboard to silence; luckily just at the start of the encore, not the whole concert! MD Kate gave the choir a note to start, which turned out to be a semitone too low, but I’m proud to say that as power came back Yours Truly managed to (a) catch up and (b) sight transpose. A Small Interval for Music, but a Great Moment for Accompanist Kind.
